I saw the Passing Strange movie today. I have to say, the memories came rushing back like a tidal wave of pure energy and emotion. There is something so special at the core of this show, something that I don't think everyone can comprehend or appreciate, but that is undeniably there for those who can open up to it. I do think there is something missing compared to seeing it on stage, but the heart is still absolutely there. And it also presented me with a wonderful quote that I had forgotten. It comes toward the end of the show, in the breathtaking stare-down scene between Stew and Daniel Breaker.
"Life is a mistake that only art can correct."
I'll leave it at that for now.
